April 23 Thurs: 1.5 hoursToday, I finished updating the Fiction section on the Novelletum Site. I completed submissions from Justin Heinze and Kyle Willenburg and made links to them from the fiction page. I also completed one from the poetry section. For now, I have sent an e-mail to Dr. Pierson letting her know that we can not complete any more changes the rest of this year. All old submissions are still on the site. I could not figure out how to archive them. April 21 Tues: 1.5 HoursToday, I double checked that the goolge analytics code worked for the Novelletum page that I added last week. It seems to be keeping track and counting how often the pages are visited so it should be good to go.
I also uploaded one of the fiction stories that Dr. Pierson had sent us. I had to go through and edit HTML. It was hard at first, but I copied the html from the previous submission and made changes from there. I also e-mailed Dr. Pierson and gave her an update on where we stand. I started on the second story she sent us, but did not get all the html changed. April 16 Thurs. 1 HourI was able to get into the FTP account and I added the Google Analytics code to all the pages. However, I'm not sure if it is working properly because then I logged into the google analytic account and it said zero of her pages have been looked at after I had gone to the website like 3 or 4 times. I will check into this again on Tuesday. Dr. Pierson also sent us new fictional stories to add. After navigating through the files and everything, I could not figure out how to make these changes. It seems as if the whole thing is through code, which I don't know much about. Beth and I are going to try to figure out if there is a design option and try to get these updates uploaded next week. April 14 Tues: 2 hoursToday, I researched some more web development pricing online. I think that we need to just decide something on our own and make it work. Some of the pricing I am finding is rediculous and we do not want to make things that expensive. Beth and I also e-mailed Dr. Pierson and we should have more information soon this week.
The Audio on camtasia is also now working. April 09 Thurs 4/9Dr. Pierson has not yet emailed us the updated current issue that needs to be uploaded to the Novelletum site. She said she would by the end of the week so hopefully she sends it tomorrow so that Beth and I have that to work on next week. I went through the current site and made a list of things that I noticed that needs to be changed:
-Current Issue needs to be updated -Under Visual Art "Peter Schwartz" link is not found -Blog -Banner/Navigation does not show u on Archives Links -No information on the poetry editor staff -Navigations links do not work under Dr. Pierson, Kristin Smith, or Jake's staff pages. April 07 Tues 4/7: 1.5 HoursToday I met with Dr. Pierson and talked about what she wants done with the Novelletum site. She is going to send Beth and I documents, images, and text by the end of the week so that we can get started on it. When we got back, I just navigated through the site and the hosting site, siteground.com, to get a feel for what we will be working with. April 02 Thurs. April 2: 1.5 HoursToday I used Camtasia to demonstrate how to write and post a blog entry on our Spaces Live Page. I also did some research on pricing for web pages. It was kind of difficult because it seems like all the ones I looked at go by hourly rates. Hopefully everyone bringing something to look at will help us make a decision. March 31 Tues 3/31- 1.5 hoursToday, I sent out the meeting minutes. I also went to Marshall Robbs office to deliver the evaluation form. I started working on the camtasia tutorial for how to map a network drive in viper. Right now it is found in documents>camtasiastudio>mappingviperdrive. It is complete, but not yet published. March 26 Thurs 3/26 9-12:00Today, I worked on creating a suggested rubric to use for the interviewing process. I also came up with a variety of questions in which we could use that relate to the rubric. This could help make the selection process easier. I realized I need to get an evaluation to Marshall Robb about the Human performance site that I completed as well. I will get this to him next week. March 12 Thurs 3/12Today, I changed the link bar on the athletic training page. Before I had the different majors up on top, but on all the other pages they were on the bottom. Therefore I wanted it to look uniform so I switched it to the bottom on the athetic training pages. --When I met with TJ, he said it was ok to leave that but no other changes.
Then I messed with Camtasia and made two videos...one attempting to show how to use camtasia and one in Dreamweaver.

They are still in editing stages, I did not produce them as a final video. March 10 3/10 10:30-12:00Today, I met with Marshall Robb to go over the website that I have completed. He thought it was great. There was only a few things he wanted me to change such as an update suggested course document and to take off Advertising for sports management because it is no longer required. After I met with him, I also went and met with TJ in Athletic Training to see if they wanted me to add courses or work with anything with them. He said NO that he wants to keep it how it is. I came back and made the couple changes and deleted the courses page I had started for Athletic Training. Now as far as I know I am completely done with the Human Performance Division.
I then played around with Camtasia. I watched two tutorial videos on how to record. I attemped some and recorded a sample video....but nothing official to go off of or anything! March 03 10:30-12:00 3/3Today, I sat in on one interview. I also had to change my meeting time with Marshall Robb, it is now going to be next Tuesday. I made a few changes to what I have done so far and then focused on making some changes to Athletic Training. Even though they maintain it themselves, I made it easier to navigate. I also noticed that they do not have any classes listed so on Thursday, I am going to make the required courses page for athletic training. February 26 2/26 log 10:30-12:00Today I linked all the majors together that fall under the human performance division: physical education, exercise science, sports management, and athletic training. Today I added all the required courses for physical education. As of right now, I am finished with making changes, based on what Marshall gave me. I decided that since Athletic training is maintained by faculty in athletic training I am not gonig to mess with it, except for making a few changes. I have one more page that I need to make for organizations and involvement. I am going to see if Marshall can meet next week to go over the changes I have made thus far. February 24 10:30-12:00Today, I worked on linking all the classes for the Exercise Science department. Sports Management is now complete based on the information I was given. I also started the Physical Education section and will be working on that the rest of this week and possibly some of next week. I e-mailed kristina bright asking if she had any pictures that would relate to this section because I was not given many to work from. February 17 Tues: 10:15-11:30Today I linked the new sports management to the William Woods Website. I made a few changes on the pages I already had created. I decided to leave Athletic training the way it is because they are in charge of it over there and I don't want to mess with it. I started linking pages in for exercise science.
I sent Marshall an update and asked him to look through what is posted and send me his thoughts and comments my way.
I will be gone on the DEX competition the rest of the week. February 12 2/12 Log 10:30-12:00Today, I made an outdoor activities page for the human performance division. I also worked on updating the links to the Athletic Training Section. February 10 2/10- 10:30-12:00Worked on linking all the courses for both the Major and Minor of Sports Management. Added some links and brainstormed ideas for the pages to come. Everything is saved in a human performance folder and it is not yet linked to the WWU website. I am going to do more pages and then start to link them together. Since there are four majors in human performance and I am doing them one at a time, and update links from there. February 05 2/5 10:30-12:00Today, I worked on making pages for the Human Performance Division. I have the Home page ready and will be adding links as I go along. I worked the sports management homepage and am almost done with the degree requirements page.
I have them saved but they are not yet linked to the WWU site. I am going to wait until I have more pages together and linked before it goes live.
I also went through cd's and found pictures from past trips that will relate to this division to have them ready in my images folder. February 03 Meeting with Marshall 2/3 10:30Today, I met with Marshall Robb. We went over the pages that he would like on his division website. He would like to have a main Human Performance Division website with links for sports management, athletic training, exercise science, and physical education.

Julie Ellar is in charge of their site and I have to contact her and inform her when changes are made.
He updated his class rotation and sent it to me to start on the required classeses for sports management.
I have some information on the other Majors within the department, but I may have to contact other professors. |
