The only web work I did this week was Thursday afternoon for an hour copying down Three C’s files to my computer and my external hard drive.   I was sick Monday so I missed the SWAT appreciation dinner….

Went to the SWAT meeting today-discussed policies, up coming meetings and calendar through the semester.

Went to the SWAT meeting on Monday and worked with Three C’s in a Pod’s file clean-up on TurboNet’s web server today, deleting the back-up files that I accidently created.  I left the “about me” duplicate.

Met with Tom today and again went over tons of information!

PayPal and using this service.  What type of database does she have for her inventory management.  Would I use Access and then link this database on the web server through complex SQL with “real time” updates?
Took her “children's picture” and kept it at 499x700 but instead of being a 1mg file through adjusting the resolution from 72 to 49 it became a 1/2mg file and the image quality is now very nice!  Posted that to the site! 
Here are the things I learned:
Web page layout-divine proportions=x/1.68=y  layout of a page needs to be aesthetically planned.
Opened up Photo Shop and discovered how to better navigate here with changes to a picture and how to properly crop a picture.

Spent 3 hours tonight working on her “about us” page.  Updated the wording and changed the table layout.  Sent her a communication on progress and requesting input on her inventory database.  Realized that I have duplicate files on TurboNet’s server that I need to address.  Going to fix that with Steven tomorrow.  My updates didn’t go since they are in the back-up files…

Went to see Tom today and we went over my spry navigation bar and looked at my code for the recycling site.  He suggested changing my div tags and adopting a better naming convention for them than what I had.  He is having me research Global Reset and I am aligning the site with the WWU site specific to H1, H2, H3, H4, style sheets.  We increased the width to 960px and he sent me to map out the rest of the index page on grid paper.

I am better understanding what I am doing with the code each time I meet with him.  I know it would be so easy just to click the icons in DW and make this happen quickly but I understand what is going on this way.
Tom also suggested for me to meet with Shane to go over my questions about spry…

Attended the SWAT meeting today.  I have been thinking of ideas from our policy and procedure and new member orientation discussion.  I have put them in a file in my SWAT folder.

Worked on the code and spry menu for the recycle site Thursday and Sunday(today).  Spry menu dropdown was much easier this time but still have some questions for Tom.  I need to split up my bottom picture section and am having trouble doing so.  Increased my page width to 850px from 700px.

Got up early this morning and completed the PPT presentation. (5 hours)  I have put it in my SWAT folder.  Scott did the video that I added but did not save it as a PPShow and I went off to the Community Luncheon (1:15)…

The Community Luncheon Presentation went well although the video did not play but we handled it smoothly and went on as if nothing had happened.  Everyone presented well and did a great job! (1 hour)  Had a learning moment afterwards so now the video is embedded in the presentation and saved as a “Show”. 

Tech Tip I got from Murph-Always save your PPT as a PPShow when completed and this keeps everything inclusive to the presentation. (videos, links & such)

Go SWAT Team!

Went to the SWAT meeting today and am going to lead the presentation tomorrow.  I will look over any new ideas over email adding to what we discussed today after the Volleyball game tonight.  Mapped out the PPT with everyone and Scott is updating the video for include in the presentation.

Did more coding and experimenting on the recycle website.  Learning what goes where to accomplish mu results.  Reformatting the look of the index page to make the div's work correctly.

Carla and I interviewed Michael Brown today at Noon.  It went very well.  I have typed details of the interview and put them in a file in my folder….

Also typed up meeting minutes and sent them out from Monday.

Met with Tom and worked on Recycle page.  I was typing code in the body things  that I should have had in the CSS style sheet.  Keeping the code basic:  color, font, background, inserted some pictures as a test for the background and typed in text to test when I type this or that what happens.  Learning by experience.  Going to make my own navigation bar in Spry instead of using my old one!

Meeting today….Took minutes.  Setting schedule to meet with Tom this week.

Met with Tom last Tuesday on the recycle website but did not do anything since that meeting.  Meeting Scott and Tom tomorrow 10-6 to get a physical product completed.  Starting at 11am.

Got all the bin location information to Cassandra Strope .  I will follow-up after their presentation Wednesday.  Still compiling pictures and I need to meet with Tom probably Wednesday and Thursday.

Set up the Activities Fair Booth with Dr. Davis.  SWAT presented a Power Point video and had a few visitors to our table.  we discussed ways to make our booth an interactive one for next year.  Took booth down with Brad.  Nice to have a new projector it works great!

Had my meeting with Tom Baker on Tuesday at 2:30.  Here are the agreements we made:
1.  I will continue to design and create the recycling website.
2.  I will be the proofer of some of the pages that SWAT competes for the university.
3.  I will keep my recycle website in a folder on the S-drive, forgot which one he said I need to get that info.
4.  Read and do some research on “div” since I will be completing my sites in this manner

Very informational meeting.  He gave me A couple links to look at and pull ideas and stuff from.
