April 24 Wed 4/22 1-3Tried all the computers in the SWAT room to make a PDF file. Then I tried to update them and none of the updates changed to be able to make PDFs. Then tried in Dr. D's office and Burton 205. Failed at that. Sat in on the meeting with Dr. D, Murph, and UIT. Tues 4/21 11-12; 1-3Worked on Duke's Dossier. Made the side piece and went to KAC Mac Lab and printed out the front sheet. Monday 4/20Went to Bek's and had a wonderful meal with the whole group. April 23 Thurs: 1.5 hoursToday, I finished updating the Fiction section on the Novelletum Site. I completed submissions from Justin Heinze and Kyle Willenburg and made links to them from the fiction page. I also completed one from the poetry section. For now, I have sent an e-mail to Dr. Pierson letting her know that we can not complete any more changes the rest of this year. All old submissions are still on the site. I could not figure out how to archive them. 4/23Today I worked on the Novelletum webiste by adding the stories to the selected areas. It took me a long time to figure out the html coding and how to link them correctly. We also sent Dr. Pierson an email! I worked from 9-12 April 23, 8-11Today I worked on some Camtasia tutorials that we could put on the web for different acedemic sites. Had alot of fun with it especially with the microphone. April 22 April 22nd I have received a large amount of info from Dr. Spratt this week and I have been working on that today. I reformatted about 100 or so pictures. I also made some text changes on most of her pages, added text to some and fixed some pictures and links. I also added 6 or so more pages to her site, which is now getting so large that she could easily have her own host. More work next week to try to finish it all up before the semester. Wed, April 22Today I fixed the google account for the honors calendar and put events into it. I embedded into the wwu honors site and it is working. I also put a few suggestions onto the prices chart. April 21 apr 21I worked with Dr. D on the price list. We took some of the comments off the google document page that the others had made and added it the pricing sheet that i came up with so it would be less confusing to view and then uploaded that one to google docs. Tues: 1.5 HoursToday, I double checked that the goolge analytics code worked for the Novelletum page that I added last week. It seems to be keeping track and counting how often the pages are visited so it should be good to go.
I also uploaded one of the fiction stories that Dr. Pierson had sent us. I had to go through and edit HTML. It was hard at first, but I copied the html from the previous submission and made changes from there. I also e-mailed Dr. Pierson and gave her an update on where we stand. I started on the second story she sent us, but did not get all the html changed. April 20 april 20th Today i didnt have much to do. I e-mailed dr. Spratt and asked her about more items for the website. If i dont receive them soon i will have to put her on hold for the rest of the semester. I also looked over everything that i had finished so far, and tweaked a few minor little details, to make things look better. I am going to a lead event at 4 so today I worked from 2:30-4 for my hour and a half. I am also needing an evaluation form so that she can fill it out. 4/20/09Today I received more photos from Kath Mayne. I resized them and added them to the biology club slide show. I also set up a new google account for the honors program calendar, because Dr. Pierson was having issues with adding events to the calendar. April 17 apr 17i did some more research on the prices and then i woked on the pricing sheet that I came up with more. April 16 apr 13Worked with Dr. D on some suggestions for pricing break downs and called the Callaway Chamber of Commerce to see when their next meeting is. It will be May the 8th. apr 16typed up the pricing for going outside the university. I looked for peoples comments but nobody made any! Thurs. 1 HourI was able to get into the FTP account and I added the Google Analytics code to all the pages. However, I'm not sure if it is working properly because then I logged into the google analytic account and it said zero of her pages have been looked at after I had gone to the website like 3 or 4 times. I will check into this again on Tuesday. Dr. Pierson also sent us new fictional stories to add. After navigating through the files and everything, I could not figure out how to make these changes. It seems as if the whole thing is through code, which I don't know much about. Beth and I are going to try to figure out if there is a design option and try to get these updates uploaded next week. 3/16Today I spent the morning trying to figure out the FTP account on the siteground.com website for novelletum. Dr. Pierson sent Stacie and I an email saying that she would like to add the google anaylitics option on all of the pages, but without having the proper access information into the FTP files we cannot make the changes. I emailed her to see if there are any other passwords and logins that she knows of to see if we can access to those files! I worked from 9:30-11:00. 3/14I forgot to log on Tuesday...sorry! On Tuesday I was able to find Aimee and give her my professor evaluation form. We also talked about the form and some of the changes she might need to make in the future. She is still worried about recieving the application fee from parents when they fill it out online so she is in the process of asking if they can waive the fee for students who apply online for the program. Stacie and I also emailed Dr. Pierson as a follow up to get the information we need to change the novelletum website. We should be hearing back from her soon! I worked from 9:30-11. April 16, 8-11Today I messed with camtasia again. Also i researched some pricing options but I thought Derek's was pretty consistent and would work great. April 15 Wed April 15th Today I fixed a few things on the swat business cards. I am still waiting for dr. Spratt to send me some more text and pictures. Hopefully I will be finishing everything in the next week or so. |
